Head Up to Taste of the Coast in North Myrtle Beach May 3
Looking for a fun and festive family event for your trip to the beach in early May? Check out the Taste of the Coast in North Myrtle Beach, one of our favorite annual events that will be held this year on May 3.
At the event, you’ll be able to sample delectable treats from some of best Grand Strand restaurants and food vendors, plus have a great time with plenty of family friendly entertainment. This year, the event has had a change of location—while it was held at Barefoot Landing in previous years, this year it will be held at the new North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex.
Admission is $3 for those aged 12 and older, and the event offers more than just food. There will also be entertainment from performers, musicians, balloon artists, magicians, inflatables, even pony rides—it likes to tout itself as “the Family Fun Event of the Year.” But the food is surely one big draw. When the event began as a public food festival, in 2008, it drew 2,500 participants with about 15 restaurants in the area represented. In 2011, it had grown to more than 5,000 attendees and more than 20 restaurants, and 2013 saw the growth continuing.
Taste of the Coast is a fundraiser for Risen Christ Lutheran Church and School that also raises canned foods for North Strand Helping Hands, so be sure to bring some non-perishable food items along with you.
The site of the 2014 Taste of the Coast, the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex, is located about 20 minutes north of Island Vista Resort. If you’d like more information about this fun and delicious family event, visit www.tocnmb.com.
