Packing Advice for Myrtle Beach
While Myrtle Beach
is notorious
for its temperate climate, it is still important to pack sensibly
just in case you are unfortunate enough to witness one of the few
bad weather days. Common sense and preparation is a good rule of thumb
to follow when packing for any vacation. Here are some other tips
to follow when packing for your Myrtle
Beach vacation:
Make a list of everything you need to take with you and refer to it
as you pack. Anything you forget to pack, you'll have to buy. A list
will ensure that nothing you need is overlooked.
Lay everything
out before you pack. Fold, layer, and pack all like items together.
Use undergarments and socks to fill space. Put toiletries and loose
items in waterproof containers, in a kit or separate bag. If you are
flying to Myrtle Beach, be sure to place anything you don’t
want to spill on the rest of your stuff (i.e. shampoo, lotion, etc.)
in sealed bags. The cargo area of planes is not pressurized, so toiletries
have a tendency to explode.
While it’s important to bring everything you anticipate you
might need, it’s important to pack lightly for plane travel.
If you must check your luggage, be sure to bring a carry-on with all
the necessities for 24 hours in case your luggage is lost. This includes
a change of clothes, a toothbrush, toothpaste, makeup or contact solution
(if applicable), or anything else you might need in case the airline
loses your luggage.
When packing for Myrtle
Beach, be sure to bring products that will help you withstand
the humidity. Natural fibers like cotton or silk and light colors
are good choices for hot days. Sunscreen is a must when visiting Myrtle
Beach! To avoid aching feet, pack a pair of familiar walking shoes.
Make sure to pack jackets and sweaters for chilly nights.
