Myrtle Beach Broken Down
Myrtle Beach is a wonderful area for vacationing,
because of all the beach activities it offers. The city is a sixty-mile
stretch of communities along the ocean. Sometimes referred to as the
Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach offers family fun and excitement in all
of its Oceanside communities. People often return to the Grand Strand
year after year, in order to enjoy their favorite beach activities.
There is also a large golfing community, extensive shopping, museums,
and a plethora of restaurants, nightclubs and museums. No matter what
your interests are, Myrtle
Beach is sure to have something to appease your holiday desires,
due to its diversity. All of the Horry County neighboring towns around
Myrtle Beach help give the city its personality, as they are unique
and loads and loads of fun!
Little River is one area
that surrounds Myrtle Beach. It is located at the north end of the
Grand Strand, just below the North Carolina border and is more for
people who prefer a leisurely vacation. Along the Intracoastal Waterway
only five minutes from the ocean, this charming village is in a world
of its own. Adding to the mysterious aura you can still experience
when you are traversing its streets, Little River was once a haven
for pirates. Fine restaurants,
historic shop fronts, quaint marinas, gorgeous golf courses, and even
gaming boats, await those who venture to this special place.
Another area surrounding Myrtle Beach is known as Aynor. This community
was incorporated in 1914, and lies about 30 miles west of Myrtle Beach.
Every year, thousands of vacationers pass through The Little Golden
Town, as it is affectionately known, as they make their way to the
Grand Strand's beaches. Primarily a farming community, the area boasts
a beautiful center used by its senior citizens.
North Myrtle Beach is another neighboring area that was founded over
thirty years ago when the four small beach
towns of Windy Hill, Crescent Beach, Ocean Drive, and Cherry Grove
joined. The city of North Myrtle Beach has retained the laid-back
flavor of its past. With nine miles of wide Atlantic beaches to the
east and the amazing Intracoastal Waterway to the west, swimming,
boating, fishing, and just plain relaxing are always a glorious time!
Exquisite golf, live shows, and phenomenal dining, are all the different
events visitors can look forward to when they want to enjoy a beach
vacation.
