Myrtle Beach is amongst the most popular and diverse vacation destinations in the United States. 60 miles of amazing beaches and beautiful ocean are among some of its most well known attractions. You can also find plenty of shopping, fishing, and other amusements to enjoy during your vacation. And of course let’s not forget the golf.

Myrtle Beach has found a way to practically hypnotize every vacationing golfer. Myrtle Beach and some of its surrounding towns stretch along the coast to form the Grand Strand, 60 miles of amazing beaches. The entertainment, lots of quality shopping and superb cuisine draw visitors back to Myrtle Beach time and time again.

Myrtle Beach began being renovated into the resort it is today back in the 1920’s. It was actually a hurricane in 1954 that thrust Myrtle Beach into the position of being the premier golf resort destination. The renovations to Myrtle Beach at this time saw a birth of many new golf resorts which have continued to grow today. Now a person can delight in over 100 different courses to choose from. Myrtle Beach may very well be the golf capital of the world.

Myrtle Beach’s golf scene isn’t only for the adults. It has also become an amazing place for miniature golf. With nearly 50 different miniature golf courses in Myrtle Beach, families and children can also enjoy some tee time.

The Myrtle Beach Pavilion, a theme park, is also an obvious destination for the vacationing family. Roller Coasters and other attractions have been bringing families to its doors for 40 years. It also is home to South Carolina’s biggest Ferris wheel. NASCAR fans flock to the Myrtle Beach Speedway to see amateur and professional races. Ripley's Aquarium is another great family spot, where visitors follow an underwater path while sharks swim overhead.

Myrtle Beach’s piers, waterways, and fishing boats attract fishermen as well. There is also scuba diving for those who like to explore. Myrtle Beach also offers windsurfing, canoeing and jet skiing. A great spot for crabbing and shrimping is Murrells Inlet, a lovely fishing village which also has some great restaurants for seafood lovers. More than 1,600 restaurants inhabit the Strand to offer a variety of foods from snacks to wonderful dining. Anyway you look at it, Myrtle Beach’s variety of activities and food make it a great spot for any vacationer.
